En Francais

I had some fun with bleach recently as I shared a bit in my last post. It's a bit smelly so be sure you are in a well ventilated area and also wear clothes that aren't extremely important, just in case the bleach decides to misbehave :)

This card came about as I was trying to come up with some make & takes for my team meeting. I had wanted to showcase the bleaching technique.  I didn't end up doing this for the meeting, but I had fun making this card and it's definitely a technique I will do again! (Maybe even at an upcoming class!!)

I love how the bleach spread a little bit after I had stamped En Francais. It's an instant antique! The bird cage image is from Nature Walk. It just looks old, which is good. I was going for that look.

The image is punched out with the Extra-large Oval Punch. I also punched out an oval from Poetry Prints DSP (the little paper stack in the Spring Mini Catalogue). Some light sponging creates some depth. 3 pearls created a subtle frame for the focal image.

Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon formed into a triple loop bow gives a bit of glam to the top, otherwise barren portion of the card. Mmm-mm! Love those antique brads!

I had fun putting this card together. I don't often just do my own thing, but I decided to give it a whirl! What are your thoughts? Do you think there is enough going on or is there too much vacant space? I'd welcome your suggestions or comments!

Until next time,

Tamara

Sweet Floral

Have you ever had a mistake turn into something pretty good? That's what happened with this card.  I had planned to use this for the spotlight technique that I shared at my last technique class (post to come soon), but it just didn't look right so I tossed this aside.  I came back to it a bit later and just added some shimmer mist (alcohol mixed with a few drops of shimmer paint in one of our stampin' spritz bottles). It's so difficult to photograph shimmer but you can kind of see it. It's much prettier in person.

I have 5 rolls of Raspberry Ripple stitched satin ribbon so thought I had better put it to use! I like just the little snippet of ribbon adorned with an antique brad. The floral image is definitely the focal point, but it's prettied up by the presence of some satiny ribbon and delicate brad.

Raspberry Ripple isn't high on my favorites list so I haven't used it much (if at all).  I am starting to fall for it though and love it paired with pink pirouette. I did sponge the edges of the soft suede panel with soft suede ink to soften the edges. Love that effect!

What do you think? My mistake turned intoa super quick and easy card! I estimate that if you were to CASE this, it would take you under 10 minutes to complete.  There's your challenge for the day!

Thanks for looking,

Tamara
