3 Little Birds..and a giveaway!

This is another fav of mine! I didn't CASE this from anyone. I came up with it all on my own and I love it.

I embossed the Baja Breeze card stock with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and then sponged it with Platinum Shimmer Paint. When using shimmer paint, less is more. You want to go over your embossing with a light touch at first. It's easier to add more than to try to take it away. The sweet little birds and butterflies are from Clearly For You. The birds also have a touch of shimmer paint on them while the butterflies were stamped and then brushed with an aqua painter to blur them just a tad.
There are SO many fun ways to use ribbon. It's up there on my "Favorite Things List" along with Shimmer Paint and Antique Brads (and many, many other things!!). For this gathered look, apply sticky strip and then gather and press the ribbon down. Very simple yet stunning. An antique brad finishes it off beautifully. So far, I haven't been able to part with this card. I just look at it every once in a while and admire it. I think the time has come for me to bid it a fond farewell and send it to another to be admired.  Would you like to win this card? Just leave me a comment on my blog and I'll randomly choose a winner and mail it to you! Be sure to check back Friday to see if you're the winner!
